Clear Culture Guide

Editorial policy

Clear Culture Guide aims to explain cultural topics accurately, fairly and with appropriate context. Our writing should help readers tell what is known, what is interpreted and where meaning may differ.

Accuracy and context

We check names, dates, quotations and factual claims against suitable sources before publication. We provide context for terms and examples, and avoid presenting an individual account as proof of a whole community's views. When evidence is incomplete or interpretations differ, we say so rather than imply certainty.

Independence and partnerships

Editorial decisions remain separate from commercial arrangements. Any paid or partner material is clearly labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial coverage. A partnership does not guarantee a favourable account, and we do not present promotional claims as independent conclusions.

Corrections

If a reader spots a factual error or missing context, they can contact us through the Contact page. We review the concern and correct material when warranted, making significant changes clear to readers where appropriate.

Illustrations

Some illustrations may be generated with AI. Illustrations are used to support the subject, not as evidence of real people, places or events; we identify AI-generated imagery when it could otherwise be mistaken for documentary material.

Our point of view

Meaning is made between people.

Culture is not a fixed set of rules. It is something people inherit, adapt, question and share.
